The Don't Laugh at Me Program

The DLAM Program includes three curricula, one for grades 2-5, another for grades 6-8, and the third for after-school programs and camps. Each one uses music and videos and materials from the tested Resolving Conflict Creatively Program. The program consists of 14 classroom sessions focused on:

• Developing skills and awareness in students around healthy expression of feelings
• Appreciation of diversity
• Creating a caring classroom culture
• Creative resolution of conflicts

One of the first activities is the creation of a Ridicule-Free Zone in the classroom. This program is considered a gateway program in that it begins to provide teachers, social workers, school counselors, and others with an entry point for year-round activities around social and emotional learning.
