The ABCs of Bullying
Addressing, Blocking, and Curbing School Aggression
Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS)
Activities in paths are designed for both children and parents. The curriculum is effective with children in regular and special education classes, as well as with children with special needs (e.g., deaf, hearing-impaired, learning disabled, emotionally disturbed).
The PATHS program focuses on:
- Identifying and labeling feelings.
- Expressing and managing feelings.
- Assessing the intensity of feelings.
- Understanding the difference between feelings and behaviors.
- Learning how to delay gratification and control impulses.
- Reducing stress and reading and interpreting social cues.
The PATHS curriculum has been shown to improve protective factors (see Search Institute) and reduce behavioral risk factors.
