Bully Proofing Your School

Bully Proofing Your School uses a team approach to involve administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and the larger community to change the climate in the school. It is a comprehensive program with five equally important components:

1. Staff training: Teaches staff the facts about the bullying dynamic, how to recognize a bullying situation, and how to intervene.
2. Student instruction: Teaches students the skills to take responsibility for themselves and learn how to shift the power away from bullies.
3. Support for the victims: Develops skills to avoid victimization and increase assertiveness.
4. Parent support: Develops collaborative techniques to avoid the power struggle during discipline.
5. Developing the caring community: Creates a positive, caring school climate of students all supporting each other.
