Planning the Evaluation
Before meeting for the first time with an outside evaluator, it's a good idea to have something to bring to the table. It's much easier than starting from scratch. Using information from the program planning process can help in the evaluation.
Jack and his staff did some preliminary work in four areas before meeting with the evaluator:
- Clarifying the program's mission statement, goals, and objectives
- Choosing an evaluation design
- Drafting evaluation questions
- Outlining a data management plan, data collection plan, data analysis plan, and report
