Data Analysis

After you collect the data, the big question is, What do I do with it? First, develop an analysis plan. The analysis plan is the road map to making sure the data you gather are organized and analyzed in a way that answers the evaluation questions.

Data Analysis Plan

  1. Write the research question(s) here.
  2. Who is our audience (who is interested in our results)?
  3. What descriptive information (e.g., participants, program) will we report?
  4. What methods for analyzing relationships (for example, the relationship between program participation and grades) will we use?
  5. Which statistical test of significance (the degree to which a value is greater or smaller than would be expected by chance) will we use?

Here is a sample table for analyzing information on implementation objectives. This matrix could also be used for outcomes.
