How Can Jack Use This Statistical Information To Improve His Program?

In this module, Jack learned how to describe the data on alcohol and marijuana use. He now knows that most kids do not use marijuana, but most kids use alcohol occasionally. He also knows that kids who do use marijuana use it often, which may indicate a larger problem (other substance abuse, family problems, emotional problems).

This information can be very useful to Jack's program staff. Knowing how many kids are using which drugs and in what amounts should affect how staff discuss drug use. For example, normative education discussion groups could better reflect the participants' actual drug and alcohol use.
